*Position Summary:***
Sovah Health in Danville, VA. is seeking a Full Time Operating Room Support Assistant to join our Day Shift (6:30am-3:00pm). The OR Support Asst. will:
* Perform multiple departmental assigned tasks that facilitate the transportation of patients, positions of patients, room readiness and the turnover processes between surgical procedures.
* Transport patients, equipment, supplies, medications, specimens to the laboratory, x-rays, charts, etc.
* Assemble equipment, including changing of anesthesia circuits, assists anesthesia care givers as directed.
* Perform environmental sanitation within the operating room and immediate ancillary units and supporting areas, including turnover between cases, and end of the day terminal cleaning.
* Clean and maintains housekeeping equipment, reports deficiencies in equipment, furniture, and fixtures, etc.
* Maintain room supplies (sterile and non-sterile) and furniture at appropriate inventory levels and stocks blanket warmers and linen carts to reduce turnover time between cases.
*Minimum Qualifications:***

_Minimum Education_
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
_Required Skills_
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.__
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.__
* Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.__
_Certifications_
* Heartsaver CPR American Heart Association required.
_Work Experience_
* One (1) year of experience in a hospital setting either in patient care unit or environmental services required.
