Job Summary
The Operating Room Turnover Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely turnover of operating rooms, ensuring cleanliness, equipment readiness, and compliance with all safety and infection control protocols. This role involves managing a team of professionals responsible for preparing ORs between surgical procedures. Ensuring proper turnover times increase case volumes, increases staff satisfaction, and positively impacts patient care.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.
Essential Functions
1. Team Leadership:
o Supervise and lead the Turnover Team members, providing direction and guidance for efficient turnover processes.
o Schedule, assign tasks, and monitor performance to maintain a well-functioning team.
1. Room Turnover:
o Coordinate and facilitate the timely turnover of operating rooms between surgical cases, ensuring readiness for the next procedure.
o Ensure thorough cleaning and sterilization of all surfaces, equipment, and instruments.
2. Equipment and Supplies:
o Maintain and manage OR equipment and supplies, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
o Collaborate with the materials management team for inventory control and ordering.
3. Infection Control:
o Enforce strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols.
o Monitor and ensure compliance with industry standards for cleanliness and safety.
4. Documentation and Record-keeping:
o Maintain accurate records of turnover activities, equipment maintenance, and any issues or concerns.
5. Training and Development:
o Provide training and mentorship to Turnover Team staff, keeping them updated on best practices and industry standards.
o Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
6. Supply Chain Management:
o Assist in managing the supply chain, including ordering and tracking supplies, as well as ensuring cost-effective and efficient utilization.
7. Emergency Response:
o Be prepared to respond to emergency situations in the OR, assisting with urgent turnovers as needed.
8. Quality Assurance:
o Oversee quality assurance and improvement programs in the OR turnover process.
o Collaborate with OR leadership to address any issues or concerns related to turnovers.

* Surgical Technologist with greater than 10 years in operating room setting.
* Experience in all service lines throughout the operating room.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
* Knowledge of healthcare regulations, infection control, and patient safety.
