**Description**
**Patient Care Tech – Float Pool – Medical Surgical at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.** **This posting represents a .9 FTE, day shift opening (7am-7:30pm, 3, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.**

We are a diverse family of caregivers that takes pride in collaborating across the hospital in a variety of settings to provide clinically excellent patient and family centered care. Joining our team brings fantastic opportunities and challenges. We train to support 10 units in our hospital: Medical A, Medical B, Medical C, Cardiology A, Cardiology B, Surgical, Orthopedics, Neurovascular, Oncology, and Clinical Decision Unit.
After some experience working in our ministry, we offer opportunities to cross-train outside of our Division to Behavioral Health and the Emergency Department within your scope of practice.
We provide 4 -6 weeks of orientation with an established Float Pool CNA or PCT with focus on skills such as taking vital signs, feeding patients, providing patient hygiene care, serving as a constant observer, and providing support at the Nursing station. You will then attend a local CNA1 school and be transferred to a CNA1 position within our unit upon receipt of your CNA license.

_Extra Incentives:_
+ Evening shift differential – $ 2.25 p/hr
+ Night shift differential – $4.00 p/hr
+ $4,000 hiring bonus and relocation assistance for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment

Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the bedside RN and charge nurse to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department in completion of the duties assigned to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient through the RN and Charge Nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Coursework/Training – Medical Terminology Course. Or Successful completion of hospital Medical terminology test within 90 days of hire.
+ 6 months – Health care experience.
