Overview
**Description**
The Patient Relations Specialist collaborates with caregivers and hospital departments to provide a service-centered experience for patients and families. The Patient Relations Specialist serves within the department of Patient Experience, Quality Management. The representative role provides support and is accountable for the operational implementation of the ministry-wide Patient Experience goals, initiatives, and programs; ensuring regulatory compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Title XXII, and The Joint Commission. This individual is specialized to act as a liaison to facilitate communication and support all those involved in the patient’s care to assist in the process of resolution of patient complaints and assistance in empathetic, non-judgmental, supportive listening to advocate the patient’s concerns, needs and rights. The Patient Relations Specialist will provide leadership and direct involvement as a liaison to service our patients, families and visitors to reduce the risk of formal grievances and safety risk events while providing service recovery and patient and family centered care resources. Under the direction of the Manager of Patient Experience & Language Services, performs a variety of functions in support of patient relations and risk management. Primarily responsible for immediately investigating patient/family concerns, occurrences, accidents and any adverse events.

**Required qualifications:**
+ Associate’s Degree in Nursing or other health care related field.
+ 1 year of Acute Care Experience, Patient Experience, or Customer Service Experience.
**Preferred qualification:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or other health care related field.
