Overview
*Position Description:
*
Under supervision of an RN, the sitter provides continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients identified as safety risks. The sitter assists in the provision of a safe and clean environment.
*Essential Functions:*
Keep the patient safe by observing the patient at all times.
Report observations of changes in physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Communicate with the RN caring for the patient throughout your shift.
*Minimum Education*
High school diploma or equivalent desired
*Required Skills*
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be
able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
*Minimum Work Experience*
Experience caring for patients in various settings preferred.
