Job Summary
The Pharmacy Systems Coordinator & Technician Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy’s automated dispensing systems. The Systems Coordinator & Technician Supervisor provides user support, performs maintenance activities and troubleshooting, and monitors the proper functionality and use of the system.
This person is member of the pharmacy leadership team who supports the department through supervision and oversight of the technician workflow, participating in quality improvement projects, inventory and record maintenance, and recruiting, training, retention, and development of technician team members.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.
Essential Functions
Assists pharmacy staff and other staff members in the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the automated medication distribution process
Coordinates the implementation of new automation equipment and software
Identifies problems that require referral to vendor support and coordinates communication with appropriate service personnel
Manages the user database and maintains an up-to-date user list an activates and deletes users as necessary
Manages inventory of units and reviews and adjusts par levels as necessary
Establishes and reviews daily batch reports such as refill reports, stock out reports, discrepancies, overrides, ordered meds not loaded, etc.
Works directly with pharmacy and nursing leadership on diversion prevention and routine controlled substance monitoring
Orients pharmacy staff to automation equipment and serves as a resource for ancillary departments (nursing, anesthesia, respiratory, etc.) and serves as an education resource for employees regarding automation software and equipment issues

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:
Current certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)Registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) within 30 days of hire
Minimum Work Experience
3 years of pharmacy technician experience
Supervisory experience preferred
