POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist the Clinical/Staff Pharmacist by filling prescription orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use. Mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the barrier isolators and performs other related duties
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school education or equivalent
Excellent communication and math skills
Basic typing and computer skills helpful
Completion of in-house training and demonstrated competency in sterile technique before working in IV room
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is required
Annual listing at NC Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Close attention to detail. Ability to concentrate.
2. Coordination of mental and manual dexterity for sustained periods of time
3. Ability to lift 20 to 30 pounds and reach items on high or low shelves
4. Ability to spend long periods of time standing, walking or sitting at a computer.
