Overview
Coordinates regulatory requirements, policies and procedures, proficiency testing, competency and education for all Urgent Care Centers and Physician Practices that are performing laboratory testing.
Coordinates regulatory requirements, policies and procedures, proficiency testing, competency and education for all point-of-care testing within the hospital.
In conjunction with the Laboratory Director and/or Manager, manages service issues identified by clients and ensures that processes are in place to meet the client’s service expectations and needs.
Performs both routine and complex lab analyses and/or identification procedures on blood and body fluids with minimal supervision.
Accurately performs QA/QC procedures.
Effectively performs preventive maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoots as necessary.
Preforms clinical lab duties as needed.
*Minimum Education*
Baccalaureate degree in appropriate laboratory science or related science required.
*Minimum Work Experience*
Three (3) years of experience in a clinical laboratory performing moderate and/or high complexity testing required.
*Required Skills*
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
