JOB SUMMARY
Independently performs and evaluates various laboratory tests on patient specimens providing data for uses in diagnosis and treatment of disease utilizing the established methods and procedures with minimal supervision. May serve as lead tech in specified areas and assist in training new technical staff. The MLT position is required to be a Generalist, with the ability t rotate through all departments with minimal supervision, guidance and direction by the supervisor and/or Lab Director. Frequent contact made with physicians, nurses, patients and other hospital personnel, laboratory staff and hospital visitors.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
1 Year of experience using Unipoc or similar system to manage and troubleshoot istat and glucometer devices.
Ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise when quality control or 6 month calibration verification dies not pass on point of care devices.
