Position Summary:
The Prior Authorization Representative reviews all orders to ensure completeness and accuracy. In addition, they will obtain and/or confirm authorization is in place for all procedures via the scheduling process.
Reports to:
FLSA: non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
• Obtain andor confirm authorization is obtained for all orders. Confirm authorization is applicable to the facility where the patient will be seen. Ensure ordering provider is the provider on the authorization as well as the facility.
• Review orders to ensure ICD10 is applicable, and CPT code matches services ordered. Review for labs required or additional information is needed. Communicate with physician offices of the need for additional information.
• Upload documents to messaging center to inform patients of pending orders
• Document all activity in billingcollection system and order management software. Scans, attaches, reviews and effectively works with electronic images as part of the authorization process. Including recording the required information from attachments into the authorization fields
• Adheres to company HIPAA policies and procedures. Identifying, maintaining and protecting sensitive HIPAA information (PHI) and following procedures to ensure the security of such information
• Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “mission and Value Statement”
