To further enhance our operations, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Produce Quality Control Specialist to join our Produce Team.
Job Summary: The Produce Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of all produce items handled by the company. This role involves performing inspections, conducting tests, and implementing quality control measures to maintain our reputation for delivering superior products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and quality control procedures, with a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and Grade Produce: Examine incoming and outgoing shipments of produce, assessing quality, freshness, and adherence to specifications. Assign appropriate grades and categorize produce accordingly.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes, including but not limited to visual inspections, sensory evaluations, and laboratory tests. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.
Data Recording: Document inspection results, track trends, and maintain accurate records of quality control data. Prepare reports for management and stakeholders as needed.
Sampling and Testing: Collect samples of produce for laboratory analysis, including pesticide residue, microbiological contaminants, and nutritional content. Ensure that testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Stay up-to-date with relevant industry regulations, certifications, and food safety standards. Ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in produce quality control, agricultural inspection, or a related role.
Strong knowledge of agricultural processes, produce varieties, and quality standards.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work in different environments, including cold storage areas.
