Production Control Manager

Position Summary:
LEAD Technical (www.lead-technical.com) has partnered with a well-established tier-1 automotive manufacturing supplier and is seeking a seasoned Production Control Manager who will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the production process in an automotive manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include overseeing production planning and scheduling, inventory management, and coordination with various departments to meet production targets and customer demands. The role involves analyzing production data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to optimize production efficiency and minimize costs. Additionally, the Production Control Manager ensures compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and production deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of production processes in the automotive industry.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory levels, including establishing goals, rotating stock, and managing purchasing and supply base.
- Develop long-range initiatives for the production control group, continuously evaluating the plant’s needs, capacities, and expenses to meet growth goals.
- Establish effective communication with various groups such as customers and business development to ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Minimize interruptions to production schedules through effective parts and materials procurement practices.
- Assist in planning the operating budget for all areas of accountability.
- Provide training and development opportunities for members of the Production Control team.
- Work on maintaining and developing a network system that allows access to the plant’s manufacturing systems to streamline information and generate reports.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
- Administrative experience regarding budgeting, data collection, and capital equipment analysis.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is required.
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years of previous manufacturing/production control experience, including experience in a supervisory or management role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
