*Position Summary:***
Sovah Health in Danville, VA. is seeking a Full Time Psychiatric Technician to join our Day Shift (7a – 7p & EOW).
The PTEC will:
* Under the supervision of nursing staff provide direct patient care and assist with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
* Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
* Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
* Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
* Report any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggest modifications to the treatment plan.
* Provide crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.
*Minimum Qualifications:***

_Minimum Education_
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
_Required Skills_
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
_Certifications_
* Heartsaver CPR from the American Heart Association required
_License_
* Active, unrestricted Certified Nurses’ Aide (CNA) certification by the Virginia Board of Nursing preferred
