Overview
Delivers radiation treatments in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist
Reports to: Director – Cancer Center Operations
Delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed
Educates patients prior to treatment regarding technical aspect of their treatments
Simulates patients according to the instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, recording information necessary for reproducibility of treatment technique.
*Minimum Education*
Graduate of a program in discipline to obtain required registry – Required
Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy – Preferred
*Required Skills*
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association training center is required within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Licenses: Registered with the Association of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) and have the designation of Therapist (T), or must be a graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program and be board eligible for the ARRT Radiation Therapy exam. Exam must be successfully passed within 12 months from their date of employment. (Graduation from a Radiation Therapy program = board eligibility)

One year experience as a Radiation Therapist – Preferred
