Overview

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.

Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and standards.

Takes a leadership role in ensuring that clinical quality measures are met.

Attends all meetings as required.

Maintains an active professional license.

Coordinates in-service education and staff development.

Coordinates orientation for new clinical employees and acts as a resource to provide ongoing education to all employees with special attention paid to the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System.

Performs general nursing care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with best practice.

Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatment, examination, all procedures and testing of patients.

Oversees scheduling to ensure that preferences are given to patients in emergency situations and that a timely flow of patient appointments is maintained.

Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information and documents all information in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Arranges for patient testing and procedures and instructs the patient in their procedures as appropriate.

Evaluates all lab results and reports critical values as appropriate.

Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.

Responsible for all patient education.

Ensures that exam rooms are maintained with necessary supplies and materials.

Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Abides by Nursing Service Behavior Standards.

Performs additional job-related duties and functions as required.

Takes a leadership role in maintaining the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.

Actively seek ways to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participate in professional development opportunities.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Completes annual educational requirements.

Understands and adheres to Bell’s compliance standards as they appear in Bell’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

*Minimum Education*
Graduate of a school of nursing.
Current license to practice as an RN in the State of Michigan.
*Required Skills*
Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS) License: Registered Nurse
Primary Source Verification: Michigan Board of Nursing.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

*Minimum Work Experience*
Preferred: One year nursing experience.
