*Position Summary:*
The quality assurance nurse/clinical data abstractor is responsible for identifying inpatient assigned core measure patients, ensuring compliance of the care team with evidenced-based medical therapies, data abstraction of core measures, conducting patient education. This position will also support organizational core measure initiatives and will assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital’s overall quality improvement (QI) program that includes ancillary, nursing, and medical staff departments to identify trends prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication and ensure Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations (JCAHO) compliance. The Quality Assurance Nurse/Clinical Data Abstractor will also assist with incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues, and other issues as requested by the supervisor.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Must have a valid Utah nursing license.
* Associate’s degree in nursing.
* Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Skills: Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision must be able to work any stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire, if past due will have 60 days to bring up to date.
Previous hospital nursing and/or nursing education preferred/ At least three years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
