**Hybrid Research Associate for Providence Portland Office**

**Full-Time/day Shift**

This role is in the Center for Outcomes Research & Education (CORE) department. CORE is an independent health systems, population health, and health policy research and consulting group specializing in health care transformation and social determinants of health.

**About CORE: The Center for Outcomes Research and Education (CORE)** is an externally funded, independent team of scientists, researchers, and data experts with a vision for a healthier, more equitable future. Based in Portland, Oregon, we work with a wide variety of cross-sector partners to take on today’s biggest barriers to better health with an emphasis on social determinants. Through this work, we deliver insights that help shape and sustain healthier systems, policies, programs, and communities. Our unique approach combines rigorous scientific research and analytics with authentic community partnerships to drive meaningful change. We help gather, analyze, interpret, and use data and information for better decision-making and more effective programs and policies centered on local communities and beyond. The Research Associate works with CORE project leads and project teams, as well as external partners and investigators, on the design, planning, fielding, analysis, and dissemination of CORE’s projects. The Research Associate develops and maintains knowledge of existing research, practice, and policy literature relevant to projects and assists in the preparation of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals and other dissemination products (e.g., presentations, briefs, reports, white papers, etc.). The Research Associate supports project teams in client interactions, develops and drafts aspects of a project or project materials, and demonstrates understanding of the overall project scope and timeline. The Research Associate designs all study materials for qualitative projects under the direction of the project lead, including developing interview guides and surveys, scheduling and conducting interviews or other qualitative data collection, and completing qualitative analytic tasks. The Research Associate may also conduct background research, environmental scans, and/or literature reviews and prepare summaries, as well as draft and format project deliverables. Additional responsibilities include completing quantitative analysis tasks and managing efforts related to improving in-house processes or systems (e.g., survey development, tracking, and documentation). Job specific skills necessary for the Research Associate include excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication, strong writing (including the ability to interpret findings for various audiences), presentation skills, problem-solving, prioritizing and managing work assignments across multiple complex projects, thinking critically and strategically to propose ideas and revise them based on client and team input, flexibility, and attention to detail.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Master’s Degree – Social Science, Public Health, Public Policy, or related field; with experience working on projects related to research, evaluation, and/or analytics and strategic consulting or,

+ Bachelor’s Degree – Plus 3 years of experience working on projects related to research, evaluation, and/or analytics and strategic consulting. Work experience MAY NOT be concurrent with education or equivalent educ/experience.

+ Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Microsoft Access.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
