Overview
Minimum Education:

Completion of a Registry Level Respiratory Care Program

Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (NBRC)
Minimum Work Experience:
- No prior experience required
Required Licenses/Certifications:

Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care License

Annual renewal of National Board for Respiratory Care active status, subject to the Continuing Competency Program (CCP)

Graduate Therapists must obtain CRT credentials and then test for RRT credential and NBRC Credential active status within 1 year of graduation. If RRT Credential is not obtained, the individual will be placed into a Respiratory Care Practitioner position until the RRT credential is obtained.

BLS certification (must be completed before initiating patient contact)

ACLS certification (to be completed within 90 days of hire)

PALS or ENPC certification (to be completed within 6 months of hire)

NRP certification (to be completed within 6 months of hire)
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Proficiency in inputting data into computer programs

Ability to maintain work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards
