Starr RegionalMedical Centeriscurrently seeking talent to fill the position ofRespiratory TherapistforourCardiac Rehabdepartment.Thisjobis permanent,part-time.
Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
* Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate.
* Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
* Responds to codes and calls foremergentassistance. Assesses patient condition and deliversappropriate treatment.
* Educates the patient and family about the patient’s illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
* Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
* Assistindividuals in the safe use of exercise equipment.
* Gives instruction on the specific disease states is also included toaidethe individual in coping and managing their disease to the highest degree.
* Education of individuals with various pulmonary diseases.
* Report patient problems/complications to the Cardiac Rehab Supervisor.
* Maintaining confidential medical records, writing patient notes for care delivered, and patient response to treatment.
* Adheres toestablishedhospital and departmental guidelines and protocols. Supports hospital mission, vision, and values.
* Works well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Demonstrates good skills in all forms of communication.
* Maintains education/development/licensureappropriate toperform the duties necessary to meet patient care needs.

Minimum EducationAssociate’s degree in discipline or equivalent, or completion of a Respiratory Therapy Certification Program:□ Preferred X Required
