Position Summary:
The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who maintains oversight responsibilities for all activities throughout the hospital in the absence of department managers and the administrative team to assure that servicesareprovidedinasafe,effective,andefficientmannerasappropriateforthevariousagegroups.The individualmustdemonstrateknowledgeoftheprinciples ofgrowthanddevelopmentoverthelifespanofthe patient, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to providethecareneededasdescribedinpoliciesandproceduresandskillschecklists.Mustbeabletorespect diversity of each individual’s values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers. The House Supervisor must maintain a high level of clinical expertiseinordertoprovideassistancetovariousunitsandactasaresource.Servesasaspokespersonto themediaifnecessary.Meetsregularlywithadministrativeteamstoassureadequatecommunicationandto initiateproblem-solvingprocedures.Effectivelyinteractswithpatients,significantothers,physicians,andother health team members while maintaining professional nursing standards. Ensures that care is of the best quality, is cost contained, and is carried out in an expeditious manner. Consults with staff, physicians and Chief Clinical Officer on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains and participates in hospital performance improvementactivities.
Job Requirements
Associate’s degree in Nursing Required, must have a valid Utah state nursing license or compact state nursing license
Bachelor’s degree Preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Preferred
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Preferred
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Preferred.
