Overview
This position is responsible for providing direct care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients in Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, and Nursery departments while assisting director as needed with supervisory duties.
Responsibilities
· Prepares patient care area adequately and ensures availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
· Reviews and carries out physician orders timely and according to policy.
· Reports to physician any patient changes in condition, test results, etc. in a timely manner.
· Assures that patient meets all discharge criteria.**
· Provides orientation, direction, training, education, coaching and mentoring to staff**
· Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, protocols and regulations.**
· Serves as a resource to staff and other departments. Leads the handling and resolution of issues and complaints.**
· Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments**
· Leads by example. Creates and fosters an environment of teamwork and exceptional service.**
· Assists Director with competency verifications, performance reviews and other areas as needed.**
· Must be a licensed RN to practice in the State of Utah
· Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, AWHONN, and STABLE certifications required within 6 months of hire
· 1 years OB experience preferred
· Supervisor experience preferred
