**Overview**
The Senior Director of Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Operations is responsible for driving strategy for all Providence outpatient ambulatory surgical facilities for the assigned service areas (WA/MT/AK). This leadership team member will be responsible for serving as the primary liaison between individual ASC Board Leadership, Ministry or Region Executive Leadership and System Level Strategy, and Operations Executives to help drive effective strategic planning and oversight of ASC operations as well as establishing standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the assigned region. As an embedded member of the local Providence Affiliate Hospital team. This position will liaise with other members of the Providence Regional Strategy and Operations Team with a dotted line reporting to the Regional Chief Executive and local ASC executive teams to ensure quality patient care and exemplary customer service. This position will report directly to the Providence Executive Director for ASCs.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Exhibit leadership, relative to strategy, and direction, while providing direction and support to all aspects of clinic operations.
+ Directly interface with the onsite management ASC management team and/or strategic management partner to recommend, develop, and assist in the strategic long-range planning process as it relates to all ASC departments.
+ Establish and make recommendations for the business development and expansion opportunities for the ASCs in concert with local hospital and ministry strategy teams and any strategic management partner teams to drive performance and outcomes at scale.
+ Formulate and administer support to help guide polices and procedure development, participate in strategic planning and business development activities where needed.
+ Provide resources as the Regional ASC Expert in navigating business, clinical, and financial hurdles and to assist in the professional development of the ASC and regional operations management team.
+ Assist in the development of the budget and contribute to expense reduction strategies, both locally and at scale across the region.
+ Ensure healthcare and commercial compliance with all State Regulatory Agencies (Certificate of Occupancy, AAAHC, etc.)
+ Work closely with the key system and regional stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of data and technology to help drive performance at scale.
+ Perform periodic audits and reviews of department functions to assist in holding team accountable to high-quality standards consistent the Providence Mission.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, or equivalent education/experience is required.
+ Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, or equivalent education/experience is preferred.
+ At least ten (10) years of progressive clinical/surgical/ASC Management Experience is required.
+ The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
+ The ability to analyze information to evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
+ The ability to analyze information gathered by investigation to report findings and recommendations.
+ Demonstrated problem solving skills.
+ Knowledge of financial principles and practice, along with the ability to apply them effectively.
+ Excellent customer service skills – willing to go above and beyond to provide an outstanding patient and caregiver experience.
+ Strong computer skills with experience working in Hospital and/or ASC CRM’s, EHR’s Practice Management Systems, Excel and Microsoft Word.
+ The ability to communicate in a professional manner – able to counsel/teach customers, train co-workers, and positively contribute to marketing/public relations. In addition to the ability to respond to common inquires or complaint from patients, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical and business community.
+ The ability to safely operate a vehicle to travel between assigned locations. Valid state driver’s license.
+ At least five (5) years of prior merger acquisition, ASC Development, and/or practice development experience within a matrixed leadership environment is preferred.
+ At least three (3) years of prior experience in management within a matrixed environment is preferred.
+ At least three (3) years of healthcare consulting experience is preferred.
+ Applicable licenses, certifications, and registrations must be unencumbered and valid in the state of hire; all within a two-year time frame.
+ CASC (Certified ASC Administrator Designation), MGMA CPE, or similar outside certification on hire, or willingness to obtain within the first 24 months.
