Job Summary
Assists in planning, directing, coordinating and controlling the operations of ancillary services of the system. Participates in the development of strategic plans by assisting in development of specific objective and achieving the plan goals.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.
Essential Functions
* Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
* Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
* Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
* Assist preparation, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
* Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
* Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
* Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
* Assists in administration and coordinating of long and short range planning activities. Develops strategic planning, operational and financial goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
* Cultivates relationships with regional hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Negotiates affiliation agreements and provides ongoing support for these relationships.
* Recommends organizational responses to challenges that arise and gives periodic reports of regional activities.
* Active participation in professional organizations and participates in community activities and maintains an interest and an updated knowledge of current trends and developments in healthcare.
* Performance review includes recognition of active participation in briefs, debriefs, huddles, learning boards, and executive patient safety rounds.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Performs and carries through to completion any special projects and assignments as delegated by Chief Executive Officer relative to Frye Regional Medical Center.
* Represents Frye Regional Medical Center at the community, state, and national level professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep up with the latest trends in hospital ancillary services and administration.
* Keeps Administrative and Senior Management staff informed of regional Healthcare environment and changes in services offered, as well as service patterns.

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Master’s Degree Preferred
An equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements. Candidates with knowledge and skills gained with an advanced degree, as well as those with experience gained through many years of management experience in a variety of administrative rolls are also considered to be qualified to hold this position.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum five years in healthcare management or related field.
