The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Divisional Controller, and is located in Mansfield, MA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for gathering data, organizing information, analyzing results, and forecasting/budgeting. Key objective is to prepare the necessary business information for internal and external monthly business reviews. Support budget preparation and perform ad hoc financial analyses. A key objective for this role is to help to drive financial results by providing business leaders with data driven insights, that facilitate focusing the business on the most impactful areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts
• Assist forecasting/budgeting and identify risks and opportunities
• Develop a strong understanding of Sales and Margin Reporting related to Customer and Lines of Business mix
• Partner with key stakeholders to analyze financial data, explain variances and investigate discrepancies
• Highlight risks and opportunities to financial targets and raise issues as appropriate
• Develop and maintain monthly reporting packages
• Analyze and track operational and financial metrics
• Identify, develop and implement process improvements
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses to understand business trends
• Provide project/initiative support as needed
COMPETENCIES:
• Financial modeling and strong analytical skills required
• Solid knowledge of financial statements
• Understanding of databases and queries
• Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to effectively multi-task with competing priorities; make decisions under pressure and work under tight deadlines; delivering accurate, on time, high quality work.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar; MBA preferred but not required
• 7+ years of progressive finance experience
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with data analytics tools preferred (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI)
