The Senior Financial Systems & Business Analyst reports to the VP of Financial Reporting & Planning, and is located in Mansfield, MA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Systems & Business Analyst responsibilities are heavily weighted to sourcing of data from several different platforms, administration and development of analytics tool (currently Power BI), analysis of vendor rebates, sales mix analysis, reporting results to internal management, and performing ad hoc financial analyses. A key objective for this role is to help to drive financial results by providing business leaders data driven insights, that facilitate focusing the business on the most impactful areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administration and development of analytics tool (currently Power BI)
- sourcing and loading data
- developing reports and dashboards
- creating and maintaining procedures document
- training users
- Track and Analyze Vendor rebate trends
- report performance of actual results
- responsible for forecasting/budgeting and identify risks and opportunities
- maintain and enhance forecasting model
- Develop a strong understanding of Sales and Margin Reporting related to Customer and Lines of Business mix
- Play a key role supporting the development of future financial planning and reporting tools
- Identify, develop and implement process improvements
- Maintain effective business partnerships to gain insight into business trends and strategic initiatives that impact financial results
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses to understand business trends
- Provide project/initiative support as needed
COMPETENCIES:
- Proficient in use of data analytics and financial tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Hyperion Essbase, OneStream, etc
- Understanding of accessing databases and writing queries
- Financial modeling and strong analytical skills
- Understanding of Financial Statements
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to effectively multi-task with competing priorities; make decisions under pressure and work under tight deadlines; delivering accurate, on time, high quality work.
- Strong written and oral presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or similar; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience
- Experience with data analytics and financial planning tools (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI, Hyperion Essbase, OneStream)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Power Point, Word)
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
