Job Summary:
IDR is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead Disaster Recovery (DR) projects from discovery to full implementation. The ideal candidate will have recent, hands-on experience creating Disaster Recovery environments from scratch and possess a deep understanding of DR concepts, protocols, and the business drivers that necessitate these solutions. This role involves managing large-scale projects involving DR architecture, data storage solutions, and ensuring comprehensive protection against disasters while minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple Disaster Recovery (DR) projects, ensuring the creation and implementation of DR environments from discovery to completion.
  • Develop DR plans, clearly outlining business needs, scope, risk, and potential impacts on data and infrastructure.
  • Oversee all phases of DR projects, including defining requirements, designing DR architecture, and executing test plans for data recovery.
  • Articulate and explain Disaster Recovery concepts such as hot vs. warm vs. cold DR sites, data synchronization, failover protocols, and the four pillars of DR.
  • Establish comprehensive DR strategies and plans that align with the business drivers and technical needs of the organization.
  • Work closely with IT, cloud, and data teams to ensure data synchronization, data feeds, and cloud storage are robust and well-integrated into the DR environment.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to communicate project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and risks.
  • Document project progress, results of DR testing, and post-implementation assessments, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure that all DR plans and projects comply with internal policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Project Management, with recent (within the past 5 years) hands-on experience leading Disaster Recovery projects.
  • Disaster Recovery Expertise: Demonstrated ability to build Disaster Recovery environments from scratch, including the development of DR strategies and execution of failover protocols.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient understanding of data concepts, including databases, interfaces, data feeds, and cloud storage solutions.
  • Communication: Strong ability to articulate DR concepts (e.g., hot vs. cold sites, failover protocols, etc.) and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to anticipate and mitigate risks while resolving technical challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Certifications: PMP, ITIL, or Disaster Recovery certification (preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or related field.
