Starr Regional Medical Centeris currently seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Service Workerfor our Plant OperationsDepartment. This job is permanent, full-time.

Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed.
Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
Inspects, tests, and maintains records for all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors, and other fire/safety-related equipment and systems.
Moves items within/between locations and from/to storage.
Supervisory Duties (If in Supervisory Role)Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists withperformance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Administrative Assistant Duties (If in Administrative Assistant Role)Performs a range of clerical duties related to the support of operations of the unit including updating and organizing information.Facilitates communications among maintenance personnel, facility staff members, and contractors to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. Performs all clerical/computer functions to plant operations.Answers the telephone in a professional manner and directs calls or takes messages.
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma, GED, or 5 years of equivalent work experience: â–¡ Preferred X Required
Required SkillsCertifications:The below certifications will be required within 60 days of hire or when transferring into a new department with these requirements:X HeartSaver First Aid CPR
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
