Overview
Job Summary:
* Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
* Full-time, 40 hours/week.
Job Duties:
* Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
* Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
* Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
* Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
* Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
Job Requirements:
* Minimum EducationSpeech Therapist must hold the certification of clinical competence in Speech from the American Speech Language Hearing Associates; Master’s of Science Degree required.
* Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of employment
License: Current TN ST licensure
* Minimum Work ExperienceOne year clinical experience preferred (new graduates will be considered)
