Essential Functions
Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves all hospital care givers, the patient and family.
Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
Follows Infection Control and safety guidelines
Performs Modified Barium Swallows as prescribed by treating physician.
Job Requirements
Minimum EducationX Graduate of a Program in Discipline X Required
X Master’s degree X Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Ability to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systems.Must be able to communicate with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.Must be able to successfully complete Skills Competency Checklist within 180 days of hire.
Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR from other reputable source
Licenses:State of Kentucky Speech Language and Pathology License
Minimum Work ExperienceOne year clinical experience preferred with performance of modified barium swallows
