Ideal Candidate will reside in or near VA and be willing to come onsite for occasional meetings.

Techead is working with a mid-sized agency recently named at “Top Places to Work” to help them find an experienced Sr. Creative Director.  

If you’re passionate about creative excellence, have a strong strategic background and leadership attitude, and want to help shape the creative vision of an agency, this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities:

• Work with account services team to make sure the client’s needs are being met and the creative goals are

on track

• Manage the creative team from concept to completion of the projects with strong leadership

• Lead and facilitate a variety of tasks (creative, design, multimedia, production and marketing) while staying

within the overall strategic vision outlined by company executives

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee creative teams and chart a path forward for continued growth in capability, headcount, innovation and industry recognition

• Contribute to business development efforts, helping to capture high-value opportunities and write proposals

• Attend strategy meetings for new business and contribute to the development of pitches and the strategic

positioning of agency creative offering to new clients

• Conduct internal review sessions to monitor the status and quality of creative products being proactively

submitted and produced

• Lead brainstorming sessions with creative team to develop ad campaigns based on client’s needs

• Own creative strategy and ideation across the agency, working with the project managers and the larger

creative team to develop foundational strategies and specific concepts that will achieve client goals

• Collaborate with in-house and freelance strategists, analytics experts, technologists and account managers to

create compelling campaigns and stories that help protect, promote and evolve clients’ brands

• Oversee the development of creative briefs and overarching creative concepts for campaigns and other deliverables

• Provide senior-level art direction across clients and product types, coaching designers to do their best work and

pursue distinctive creative executions

• Implement and streamline the processes for creative team intake and workflow, ensuring efficiency and full staff

utilization

• Work closely with the executive creative director to achieve world-class creative execution and help steer the

vision for the creative team

Skills and Experience:



• 10+ years’ experience in a creative role

• Bachelor’s degree required in graphic design, marketing, advertising, communications, or related field

• Ability to lead a team of creatives

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges within the portfolio, developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and proactively address any emerging issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems and drive timely issue resolution.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as required: The candidate should be open to travel, as some projects may require on-site visits and client meetings.
