Senior Security Engineer/ Architect
Contract to Hire
Hybrid: 3 days onsite
Location: Richmond, VA
Responsibilities:
• Developing prerequisites for networks, firewalls, routers, and other network devices.
• Performing vulnerability assessment, security testing, and risk analysis
• Researching and implementing updated security standards, systems, and best practices
• Reviewing current security measures, recommending enhancements, identifying areas of weakness, and responding promptly to possible security breaches.
• Support customers and employees via email, telephone, and face-to-face interaction.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of infrastructure
• Firewall Design/Administration, Intrusion Prevention, Event Analysis, Network Analytics, Packet Analysis
• Web Application Security fundamentals
• DNS Security
• Web Application Firewalls
• Incident Handling of security related investigations
• Responsible for scheduled and non-scheduled after-hours maintenance.
• Act as an escalation point for other Engineers, Consultants, Management, and courts that provide state services
• Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills
• Cisco Firepower Appliances running FTD instances – Senior Level
• Cisco ASA Firewall Configuration for SSL VPN Clients
• Network Packet Analysis – Expert Skills and Qualifications
• Experience with Cisco Umbrella Solutions
• SDWAN Networking experience
Requirements:
- Experience based on Cisco Technology is a core requirement.
- Qualified candidates will have a Cisco CCNP minimum for Routing & Switching (Now known as Enterprise) or Enterprise Security Certifications.
- Network Analytics with NetFlow (Stealthwatch) would be a plus.
• Demonstrate a high level of competency in multiple network & security disciplines / services
• In-depth understanding of network & security concepts and ability to implement solutions
• Hands on experience with DMVPN, Firewalls, ASA, and Load Balancers
• Hands on experience with Advanced Switching environments (Nexus, IOS & IOS-XE & ACI)
• Ability to work without supervision and function as a self-starter
• Experience in communicating technical situations to a non-technical audience
• Experience in communicating status to management and ranking personnel
• Flexibility to work or be contacted off-hours as required
• Willingness to travel as needed (minimal)
