Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Prevention for our Skilled Nursing Facility. This job is permanent, full time.

* Must be able to assist in the education of patients.
* Directs the review and tracking of all blood and bodily fluid exposures, including employee promptness in reporting exposure, appropriateness of evaluation Lab) and treatment, and exposure risk.
* Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
* Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
* Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
*Minimum Education:*
Graduate of an accredited LPN Program:

*Required Licenses:*
[Tennessee, United States] Licensed Practical Nurse
Current LPN license in the State of Tennessee or another compact state:

*Certifications:*
The below certifications will be required at the time of hire:
X Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Prior health care experience is preferred.
Must complete an approved Infection Preventions Certification course (e.g., CIC, CBIC, IP-BC, IPCA, CDC) within six months of hire / transition into position.

* Must have proficient computer skills, including Excel and/or other staff scheduling programs
* Must have advanced knowledge in field of practice.
* Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
* Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
* Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
* Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
* Maintains professional working relationships with all staff, vendors, etc.
* Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
* Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
* Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Starr’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
* Serves as designated staff responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDC.
* Serves as the on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities, in accordance with current CDC recommendations.
* Maintains a current knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practices.
* Performs work within the scope of his/her license.
