Supply Chain/Logistics Manager
Position Type: Full-time, Direct Hire.
Salary Range: $75,000 to $95,000 (DOE).
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p.
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46112 (West)
 
Position Summary:
LEAD Technical (www.lead-technical.com) has partnered with a well-established tier-1 automotive manufacturer and is seeking a dynamic supply chain/logistics operation professional to play a pivotal role in optimizing supply chain processes. As the Supply Chain/Logistics Operations Manager, you will oversee inbound and outbound shipments, coordinate shipping routes, ensure on-time delivery, and manage customer communication. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating the delivery of raw materials and components to production operations, developing initiatives to reduce shipping errors, and ensuring Kanban system compliance. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, coordinate shipping routes, ensure on-time delivery, and manage customer communication.
  • Coordinate the delivery of raw materials and components to production operations and the collection of completed materials from production departments to finished goods storage.
  • Develop short-term and long-range initiatives for the supply chain department to reduce shipping errors and ensure Kanban system compliance.
  • Establish effective communication with various groups such as customers and business development to ensure on-time delivery of products and team support.
  • Minimize interruptions to production schedules through effective parts delivery management.
  • Assist in planning the operating budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for members of the supply chain team as required to improve performance skills.
  • Monitor and manage daily workload and hours to meet efficiency targets.

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is preferred, or eight to ten years of previous manufacturing/production control experience, including experience in a supervisory or management role, or equivalent gained through a combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with TPS-style manufacturing, including pull systems, Kanban production management, and other TPS tools.
  • Administrative knowledge regarding budgeting, data collection, and capital equipment analysis.
