Overview
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Performs assigned Unit Secretary and Nurse Tech duties in the Women’s Services area.
Reports to: Director Women’s Services/Labor & Delivery

Graduate of a Program in Discipline (Surgical Technician) – Preferred

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer proficiency required.

BLS certification from approved American Heart Association training center required to be current upon hire.

Licenses:
Certification is required for experienced surgical technologist upon hire unless qualifications are met under the TCA Section 68-57-102 grandfather clause effective 7/1/2006. New Graduate Surgical Technologists are required to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
