Overview
Position Summary
Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will perform as telephone operator for the medical center, greeting all who seek information and delivering customer service support to staff, patients, families, visitors. Has other varied duties, including emergency response procedures, dispatching of security personnel, paging and relaying messages to appropriate personnel.
· Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
· Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
· Provides patient information, as appropriate.
· Provides information to patients regarding telephone usage
· Provides TDD service when needed.
· Maintains patient valuables system.
· Dispatches Security personnel for all internal emergencies, and, as needed, for patients, visitors, associates’ assistance.
· Responds to Emergency Security System, monitors all alarm panels and makes proper notifications when activated.
· Notifies key personnel for all codes and notifies police department when assistance is needed.
· Manages badge/door Access Control System.

Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure appropriateness and continuity of care for the patients of Sovah Health Danville.
Minimum Work Experience
Previous experience preferred.
